Novus Percutere is a newly formed percussion duo comprised of Dr. Justin Alexander and Dr. Luis Rivera. Long time friends since their days together at Florida State University, NP aims to perform and commission works that appeal to their similar tastes in contemporary, rock, pop, and classical music. They have performed concerts around the United States and are currently working on their first studio album with producer/engineer Matt Filosa, to be recorded at the University of South Alabama. NP travels around the country performing concerts and master classes for percussionists of all ages and interests. NP released their first full length album entitled symmetry | reflection on September 30, 2015. The album was recorded at the University of South Alabama and produced by Matt Filosa from Synced Up Designs. Track listing  consists of contemporary process pieces for percussion duo, but each utilizing "process" in a unique way. Music featured on the album include composers Steve Reich, John Psathas, Christopher Adler, Ivan
